Let’s face it, toenail fungus infections are very embarrassing. Most of the time they smell bad and of course they look bad, we don’t want other people seeing or smelling them. Treatment, no matter how effective it is, takes a while. It can take anywhere from a month to a year or so to successfully treat a nail fungus infection. In the meantime covering it up is the best idea so that you don’t have to worry about it in certain social situations or professional situations.

The problem with just wearing socks and shoes all the time is that that’s what can make the infection worse and kind of ruin your treatment attempts. The fungus that causes the nail to be infected thrives in warm and damp climates. That is exactly what you create when you wear socks and shoes for a long time.

To cover it up effectively, first sprinkle baby powder on not only the infected toenail, but the entire foot. Use it liberally. Then wrap plastic wrap around it in two layers. Use a fork or something like it to poke vent holes but make sure they are not too big. Doing this will prevent moisture from reaching the infection and making it worse.
